Behind the collection: Inspiration & First thoughts
At the beginning of this year, I sat down and thought about my goals and collections for 2021. 2020 seemed to go by in a blur. Between Covid, our new baby boy, Hugh, digging deep into what EA means to me, and eventually relocating – I knew planning this year would go a long way.
For my first collection of 2021, I will be continuing my exploration of Flowers. The more time that I spend with them the more I feel a deep connection with them. They seem to be so parallel to all the experiences we have been dealing with as people- death, joy, happiness.
I have also been enjoying different kinds of cinematic-styled photography – the lighting techniques and the editing. Specifically, the work of Ireland-based wedding photographers “The Kitcheners”. The way the colors glow, the emotions of the day, and you feel pulled into the scene.
I have found the work of Rococo recently and immediately felt pulled into the concepts of the work. It’s full of elaborate and fine details that were over the top for the time. It’s so joyful, I knew that I had to continue to explore what I started in the, “Goodbye PNW“ collection.
Can you see it? Can you see the collection unveiling before your eyes?
Next week, I will continue to work you through my process in planning this collection. It’s going to be so beautiful. I can’t wait to show you more.
